Unlocking Jane.app’s Potential for Growth
Hi, I'm Rob Saric, clinic advisor and founder of Caretrics. A few years ago, I was helping a friend who runs a healthcare clinic. It was late, the clinic was closed, and we were hunched over her computer looking at Jane.app reports. We had dozens of numbers in front of us—daily revenue, invoices, cancellations—but none of it told us if the clinic was actually doing well. That’s when I realized: clinic owners don’t need more data. They need to know what to notice.
Jane.app is a powerful platform for managing a clinic, but knowing exactly which reports to focus on can feel overwhelming. I remember thinking: There has to be an easier way to get key insights without drowning in spreadsheets. That night, I sketched out a toolkit to highlight just the most important numbers and explain them in plain English. That idea became the Clinic Performance Toolkit.
The Challenge: So Many Reports, Which Ones Are Key?
If you’re a busy clinic owner using Jane.app, this might sound familiar. Between treating patients and managing staff, you might not have time to dig into endless data. Jane offers a wealth of information—but it can feel like information overload.
For example, the Summary report gives a daily financial overview, but then there’s a Cash Reconciliation report and a Sales report. Which one best shows last month’s earnings? Do you need them all? It can be confusing.
Jane also includes Accounts Receivable (who owes you money) and Patient Retention (how often new patients return). These are crucial metrics—cash flow and patient loyalty—but only if you know where to find them and how to interpret them.
Having a lot of data isn’t the same as understanding it. I’ve seen owners miss a dip in retention or an uptick in overdue invoices because the info was buried in a lesser-used report.
Quick Win: One of the fastest insights you can get is your New Patient Count—just open Jane’s Patient Retention report and look for "New Patients." That one number tells you if your marketing is working this month.
